Belizean Boxer Amir “Kingmir” Rudon clashes with Chetumal’s Gaspar “Tremendo” Gomez this weekend at Swift Hall for the national Lightweight Championship. The Belize Boxing Development Council is hosting the event to bring boxing enthusiasts high-caliber matches after working to revive the sport.
The 23-year-old athlete has been training for ten years and has acquired six wins in the amateur category and five in the professional category with 0 losses. Rudon told Love News that he feels positive going into the fight and has trained hard to put on a spectacle.
Amir Rudon, Belizean Boxer: “I don’t know too much about Gaspar but I’ve seen a couple of his fights, I’ve watched two of his fights that he did this year and I’ve been studying some films on him just so that could give me an edge come Saturday night.
Besides that I feel positive entering this fight. I’ve been training hard, I have a wonderful team around me, good coaches, good sparring partners that keep me sharp each and every single day. I’ve been on point. My weight is good so for the weigh ins I’m just waiting for that to pass and then we get ready for Saturday night.”
Since the fight will be the day before Garifuna Settlement Day, the boxer says he has a special request for his supporters.
