Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios has been announced as the winner of the Miss Universe 2023 title, defeating India’s Shweta Sharda in a grand event that took place at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador on November 19. The agency’s new therapy dog, a nine-month-old French Bulldog named Luna, is partnered with Bianca Becker ’17, a police detective and UCF alumna. “No one is going to confuse her for a working K-9,” Becker says. “That just makes her more approachable and easier to love — exactly what you want in a therapy dog.” Becker, who has been with the department since 2017, specializes in sex crimes investigations at UCF. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has announced an annular solar eclipse in the United States that will be seen on October 14. It described the solar eclipse as a ‘ring of fire’ which will move from the US Oregon coast to the Gulf of Mexico.
