Belize will meet with Guatemala and the United States to discuss combating illicit activities along Belize’s borders and along the Sarstoon River. In October, Prime Minister John Briceno stated that the reason the Guatemalan Armed Forces do not want the BDF in the Sarstoon is because they are enabling drug trafficking in the area. Major U.S. downtowns are still recovering economically after the pandemic stopped concerts and sporting events, people moved away from cities and many workers stayed home. Since then, each downtown has recovered a little differently. Berlin (22/10 – 75) UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues, Fernand de Varennes, reported during his trip to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region in Tajikistan, he met with representatives of civil society and residents of the region.
